Today’s accomplishments:

Satin bound and hand stitched the interior bodice seams for a custom dress.

Made satin ties for said dress.

Cut replacement pieces for an antique quilt repair.

Completed my scrappy top that I will probably never actually wear because I’m a big fat chicken.

Make progress on my tatted bookworm bookmark.

She and I have been in many productions together, some with me as costumer, but I have never been able to costume her!!!

Ignore the wonky back of the belt in that one picture, it was a fitting day and I have fixed it so it lays properly.

Today’s shenanigans: #1. Upcycling some lace cur

Today’s shenanigans:
#1. Upcycling some lace curtains to create new curtains for A’s room, curtains that fit her “vibe”
#2. Tracing and pinning and sewing and flipping and pressing reclaimed fabrics for magic circle quilting. Haven’t decided if they will be bags or blankets of something else.
#3. Picking out embroidery patterns so A can embroider on some hexies for me for yet another upcycling project.

I was so excited to find this at the thrift store

I was so excited to find this at the thrift store for 50 cents. Took a chance that it would have all the pieces ( it did ) and failed to realize that patterns back then were for ONE size ( thank goodness I can alter patterns)

My girl asked me to make the pink one pictured for her first homecoming dance. Well, guess what we are doing today. Homecoming is next Friday.

Alterations made to the mock up. Using a lining instead of facings because I don’t want the satiny seams bothering her. And I think it looks nicer.

P.S. I went to see if anyone had actually MADE the dress before (I needed to see the back) and kind of geeked out to see @backroomfinds made one!!!

The flounces are working the way I want but I learned I may need to dye more upcycled chiffon!!

I dyed some beautifully embroidered curtains that I’m really hoping will work out for her sleeves. If not, well, there was no harm in trying and that fabric will look fabulous on another project. Also, I gave me some really cool options to add to my scrappy bundles! (Preorder now!)

We did get the fabric dyed for @stitchandbubby ‘s dress.

I love sitting down until I HAVE to sit down. Tatting at least keeps my hands busy.
