I think I’m going to start an underground top secret business, where I go in and do deep cleans, maintenance, and repairs on appliances because repairmen cost too much and no one ever tells you how to ACTUALLY MAINTAIN your appliances when your buy them. But after all the appliances I’ve had to YouTube my way through repairing, I’m starting to become a bit of an expert.

Well, that’s what I spent today doing. Replacing the transmission on my Maytag washer. That repair would have taken… not quite an hour… but, upon pulling out the tub, I discovered that washing machines are ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. Two hours to get the grime off the outer side of the stainless steel wash tub. Before anyone can say it, yes, I used Affresh in my washer, regularly.

The washer works, laundry is being done in house again, but that was my entire day. That means another post about old projects…. Let’s check out COSTUMES!

This doesn’t even begin to show all that I’ve made, I’m honestly too tired to dig through my phone tonight to find any more. I did make a really cool Cinderella transformation dress. I’ll try and post that one another day.

Costumes for fun, costumes for Halloween, and many many costumes for theatre. I LOVE making costumes. It doesn’t matter if I’m upcycling something to fit a need, or starting from a design on paper to make it happen. Costuming works all the parts of my brain, especially if a modicum of historical accuracy is requested.

Have you ever made a costume? Or maybe just a special themed outfit for a party or event? Tell me about it!
