Today’s studio progress:
- Started and almost finished a most ridiculous pair of pj pants from an old sheet.
- Assisted (from a distance) as 16yo learned to prep, read and use a vintage sewing pattern that had belonged to her great grandmother. She is making a pleated skirt and it’s requiring some alterations because the pattern is for a size two sizes too big for her.
- While she worked, I worked on using up my upcycled tshirt yarn by crocheting a rug for my studio. It’s wonky (because I wasn’t paying attention), but I’m a super fan of wonky.
- While I came inside the house to fold a bajillion loads of laundry and start dinner, that same 16yo went back into the studio “to play and just freestyle”. She practiced pleats by using scraps to make our tiniest Schnauzer a mini skirt!
Now to decide what to make tomorrow? A bag? A UFO? A selfish sew? Hmmmm….
